About the Foothill Foxy Flyers
The Foothill Foxy Flyers Roller Derby League was founded in October 2011 by sisters Jenny “JennaFerocious” Eaton and Michelle “Micci Sixx” Whisler. Their inspiration was to create a place where women of all ages and backgrounds could come together to mentally and physically challenge themselves through the sisterhood of roller derby.
The Foothill Foxy Flyers started with a handful of women who had a desire to learn the sport and has enjoyed continued growth for the past five years. We introduced two new teams to the league in 2014—The Foxettes and The Foxtails (our junior team for girls ages 10 – 17). Most of the original Foxy Flyers are still with the league today and are pleased to continually welcome and foster the growth of new skaters. Our league has also welcomed several new Referees and NSOs (Non-skating Officials) to the sport.
Our league is built upon the principles of camaraderie, community, fun, fitness and competition. The Foothill Foxy Flyers are committed to challenging themselves to be their very best, stepping outside comfort zones to build a stronger team, and being supportive and appreciative of everyone involved in the organization.
We skate by Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) rules. The WFTDA promotes and fosters the sport of women’s flat track roller derby by facilitating the development of athletic ability, sportsmanship, and goodwill among member leagues.
